Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
When you sign up for BabySteps, we collect: your email address(es), your name (optional), your baby's name (optional), your baby's date of birth, and your gear list (products you own). We also collect email engagement metrics (opens, clicks) and site analytics via Plausible (no cookies, aggregate only). Payment information is handled by Stripe — we never store card data.
2. Why we collect it
We use your information to generate personalized weekly digests, process billing, and produce aggregate analytics to improve the service. We collect it based on your explicit consent at signup and to fulfill our service agreement with you.
3. Who we share it with
We share data only with the services required to operate BabySteps: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Plausible (analytics). We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketers.
4. Children's data
We collect a baby's name and date of birth from the parent to personalize the digest. We do not market to or communicate with children directly. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
5. Data retention
If you delete your account, we retain your data for 90 days for billing and dispute resolution purposes, then permanently delete it.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time. You may also request a data export or opt out of email communications. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@babysteps.guide. We will respond within 30 days.
7. California residents
Under the CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of any sale. We do not sell your personal information.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email before the changes take effect.
