Transitions

Key transitions

Adjustments and changes as your baby grows, in the order they typically come up.

Use a from-birth setup

Safety critical

From birth

Do not use the included Toddler Seat alone before 3 months. For a newborn, use one of UPPAbaby’s approved from-birth options: Bassinet V3, Infant SnugSeat with the Toddler Seat fully reclined, or a UPPAbaby Aria™/Mesa® infant car seat. The Bassinet, Aria™, and Mesa® attach directly without adapters.

Toddler Seat becomes approved

Safety critical

From 3 months

The included Toddler Seat is approved starting at 3 months, up to 50 lbs and 40 in. Before 3 months, continue using an approved from-birth setup.

Remove Infant SnugSeat wedge insert

Safety critical

When the child begins to sit upright in the seat

If using the Infant SnugSeat, remove the wedge insert at this point. The product page also says the SnugSeat can transition into a plush comfort liner as baby grows.

Transition out of Bassinet V3

Safety critical

When the infant begins to push up on hands and knees or reaches 20 lbs., whichever comes first

Discontinue Bassinet V3 use and move to another approved Vista configuration.

Safety

Usage warnings

  • The included Toddler Seat is rated from 3 months, not from birth by itself.
  • For from-birth use with the Infant SnugSeat, the Toddler Seat should be fully reclined for optimal newborn support.
  • The Infant SnugSeat wedge insert should be removed when the child begins to sit upright in the seat.
  • Do not use the Bassinet when the infant begins to push up on hands and knees or reaches 20 lbs., whichever comes first.
  • The SnugSeat manual says to always use the harness and recommends removing the bumper bar while using the SnugSeat.

Setup notes

  • The Infant SnugSeat product page says it transitions into a plush comfort liner suitable for all recline positions as baby grows.
  • No reviewed VISTA V3 official source stated the main Toddler Seat footrest positions or age-by-position footrest guidance.
