Switch to Huggies Newborn (Size N). If using Huggies® Little Snugglers®, use the front cutout / umbilical cord cutout while the belly button heals in the first few weeks.
The diaper no longer fits snugly below the belly button; you cannot fit two fingers comfortably under the waistband; the diaper leaves red marks on your baby’s tummy, thighs, or waist; the diaper doesn’t fully cover your baby’s bottom; there is an increase in leaks, blowouts, or diaper rash; your baby shows discomfort or pulls at the diaper; or, for Huggies® Little Movers®, the tabs land beyond the button graphics.
Move to the next diaper size.
Baby weighs 8-14 lbs.
Move to Huggies Size 1. If using Little Snugglers® or Plus Little Snugglers®, sizes 1-2 are the sizes with all-around blowout protection.
Baby weighs 12-18 lbs.
Move to Huggies Size 2. If using Little Snugglers® or Plus Little Snugglers®, sizes 1-2 are the sizes with all-around blowout protection.
Baby weighs 16-28 lbs.
Move to Huggies Size 3.
Baby is crawling, walking, or highly active.
Switch to Huggies® Little Movers® or Huggies® Little Movers® HuggFit 360°. If using Little Movers®, use the SizeUp indicator on the front of the diaper; when the tabs land beyond the button graphics, move to the next size.
Baby weighs 22-37 lbs.
Move to Huggies Size 4.
Baby weighs more than 27 lbs.
Move to Huggies Size 5.
Baby weighs more than 35 lbs.
Move to Huggies Size 6.
Baby weighs more than 41 lbs.
Move to a Huggies Size 7 option.
Baby weighs more than 46 lbs.
Move to a Huggies Size 8 option.
Water play / trip to the pool, beach, or lake.
Use Huggies® Little Swimmers® Disposable Swim Pants instead of regular diapers, because Huggies says ordinary diapers swell in water and Little Swimmers® do not.
