When the child is born.
Set the mattress base at the highest level (Level 2).
Before the child can stand up.
Move the mattress base to the lowest level (Level 1) before the child can stand up.
When child is able to pull to a standing position.
Remove bumper pads, large toys and other objects that could serve as steps for climbing out.
When child begins to climb out or reaches the height of 35 in. (89 cm).
Stop using the crib. If converting it, use the sold-separately Toddler Bed Conversion Kit and follow the assembly instructions shipped with that kit.
